We solve problems, not create them.

Our clients are part of our team.

Lauesen Law Team is founded on the guiding principles of ethics, diligence, compassion, and straightforward representation. We work collaboratively to identify the problem and educate our clients on the available options and the associated risks and rewards attributable to each possible course of action. We only take cases where we can provide a tangible benefit to our clients. Legal representation is expensive and sometimes risky; we will advise you candidly on costs throughout your case. Our main goal is to ensure that our clients understand the often-confusing legal process and how strategy affects them.

Accurate. Aggressive. Civil. This is how we practice law.

We are a general, statewide firm with specialized experience in the following areas:

Alaska Native Law
(lands, environmental contamination, stock, and corporate governance)

Civil Litigation

Real Property

Corporate Counsel Services

Leadership

Rachel Lauesen was born and raised in Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska and graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2004 (B.A. History). She obtained her juris doctorate (law) degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2008, where she was awarded the Sonnet B. Schmidt Edmonds Award for Excellence in Energy Law and the Indigenous Law Students Outstanding Student Award.

Rachel started her legal career with an established boutique law firm specializing in Alaska Native Law. She then gained valuable transactional experience working in-house for one of Alaska's largest Alaska Native Village Corporations, where she obtained corporate-wide recognition for embodying the Iñupiaq value of nagliktuutiqaġniq—Compassion. However, Rachel is a litigator at heart, and returned to private practice in 2014 to advance her litigation skills in domestic relations, high-volume personal injury, and federal criminal defense. Rachel is constantly looking to improve her skills through programs like The Trial Lawyers College. She is motivated by an immense desire to help people and obtains results through hard work and common sense.

Outside the law, Rachel's interests include travel, all dogs, fashion, eating, music, cars, and her nephew. Rachel serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Alaska Fairbanks Alumni Association. She is a recognized descendent of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
